Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Are vintage fountain pens valuable?

Many are — especially from premium manufacturers like Montblanc, Parker, and Sheaffer. Factors include brand, model, nib material (gold nibs add significant value), condition, rarity, and original packaging. Some rare vintage pens sell for hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Do you buy pens that don't work?

Yes. Non-functioning vintage pens can still have significant value for collectors who restore them. Dried-out filling systems, cracked barrels, and worn nibs are common with vintage pens and don't necessarily eliminate value.

I inherited a box of old pens. How do I know if they're worth anything?

Send us photos and we'll do the research. Look for brand names on clips or barrels — Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman, and Montblanc are the most common valuable brands. Gold nibs (marked 14K or 18K) add significant value.

Do you buy modern pens or only vintage?

We buy both. Modern limited editions and premium pens from Montblanc, Visconti, Pelikan, Sailor, and Pilot all have resale value. Entry-level modern pens under $50 retail generally aren't worth selling individually.

Do you offer appraisals?

We don't provide formal appraisals. What we offer is a free, no-obligation buy quote — we'll review your collection and tell you what we can offer for it.

How long does the process take?

Most sellers have a cash offer within 1–3 business days of sending photos. Once you accept, pickup is typically within a few days. From first contact to cash in hand usually takes less than a week.
