What We Look For
Condition, completeness, and brand matter — but so does volume. Here's what drives the highest offers.
A single engine has modest value. A room full of Lionel postwar, brass locomotives, or an operating layout is where real money lives. We've purchased entire train rooms in one visit.
Hobby Master, Corgi Aviation, Franklin Mint, AUTOart — especially in original packaging. Scale matters less than condition and brand. 50+ pieces make for a serious offer.
Painted Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar armies, Forge World models, Battletech collections, and complete Flames of War forces. Rulebooks, terrain, and accessories add value.
Carded Star Wars, boxed G.I. Joe playsets, MIB Transformers, vintage Hot Wheels cases. Original packaging can multiply value 5x or more over loose pieces.
Montblanc, Parker, Sheaffer, Pelikan — especially pre-1970s examples in working condition. Sets and matched collections with original cases are particularly sought after.
Don't know what you have? That's fine. We work with families and estate handlers regularly. Send us overview photos — we'll identify everything and explain what drives the offer.
What We Buy
We focus on the categories where we can make the strongest offers. High-value examples in any of these areas are our priority.
All scales from Z to G. Lionel, MTH, Athearn, Atlas, Kato, and brass imports. Locomotives, rolling stock, complete layouts, and accessories.
Military and civilian aircraft from Hobby Master, Corgi Aviation, Gemini Jets, Dragon Wings, and Herpa Wings. All scales. Original boxes preferred.
Warhammer 40K, Age of Sigmar, Battletech, Flames of War, Bolt Action — complete armies preferred. Forge World, painted figures, terrain, and rulebooks.
Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, He-Man, LEGO, Hot Wheels — especially carded, boxed, or in original packaging from the 1960s through 1990s.
Vintage and collectible writing instruments — Montblanc, Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman, Pelikan. Sets, cases, and pre-1970s examples especially sought after.
Premium collector-grade 1:18, 1:24, 1:43 scale — AUTOart, Franklin Mint, Corgi, Dinky, First Gear. Volume collections welcome.
Japanese tin toys, pressed steel vehicles, and vintage mechanical toys from Nomura, Linemar, Alps, Marx, and Structo — especially in original boxes with working mechanisms.
Aurora, Tyco, AFX, Scalextric, Carrera — vintage and modern sets, cars, and track. Complete sets with original boxes are strongest.
Plastic model kits, diecast military vehicles, tanks, and aircraft from Tamiya, Revell, Hasegawa, and Academy — built or unbuilt.
Vintage D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Kickstarter exclusives, and out-of-print strategy games. Collector value is what matters, not just age.

Why Sell to Us
Jon has been buying and reselling hobby collections for over 20 years. When you contact Templar Toys, you're talking to the person who will evaluate your collection, make the offer, and show up at your door. Every time.
No cherry-picking. We buy entire collections — not just the best pieces. You don't end up with a pile of leftovers you still have to deal with after we leave.
No invoices, no waiting, no checks that take two weeks to clear. We pay cash on the spot at pickup. For large transactions we can also arrange a check — just let us know in advance.
We work with families and estate handlers regularly. Send us photos and we'll take it from there — at whatever pace works for you.
We research current market values before making any offer and we're happy to walk you through exactly how we got there. No pressure, no obligation — just a straight answer.
We've been buying collections since 2003. We know what things are worth, we know what buyers want, and we treat every collection with the respect it deserves.

Common Questions
We specialize in collections with an estimated value of $1,000 or more — though we understand many sellers don't know what they have until we look. If you're unsure, send photos. We'll review everything and let you know what we can offer. We're particularly interested in large accumulations: full train rooms, estate collections, entire wargaming armies, or a lifetime of collecting in a single category.
We research current sold prices on eBay and the secondary market for your specific items. Our offer reflects wholesale value — what we can realistically sell each piece for, minus selling fees, time, and effort. We're transparent about how we arrive at a number and happy to walk you through it. Our offer won't match retail, but it's fair for a no-hassle, cash-at-pickup transaction.
You could — and for a handful of valuable pieces, it might make sense. But for a large collection, eBay means photographing, listing, packing, and shipping hundreds of items one at a time. You'd also pay 12–15% in platform fees and handle returns and disputes. For most sellers, a clean one-visit cash offer is worth more than months of work and uncertainty. We let you walk away done.
Condition affects the offer, but it doesn't disqualify a collection. Items without original boxes, with wear, or with minor missing parts can still have real value — especially in volume. Send us photos and we'll tell you honestly what we can work with.
Yes — this is one of the most common situations we work with. You don't need to identify anything. Just send overview photos of shelves, storage areas, or boxes and we'll do the rest. We work with families and estate handlers regularly and can move quickly when timing matters.
Absolutely. Many sellers want to hold onto a few sentimental pieces. Just let us know what you'd like to keep and we'll make an offer on whatever you're ready to part with.
Send us photos and we'll respond within 1–3 business days with a no-obligation cash offer.
